Karen-
As an alternative long-term suggestion, learning to do mechanical work on a
bicycle is relatively easy and there is a lot of information available,
including online. Unlike modern cars, bicycles are pretty simple. The Park
Bicycle Tool website is a pretty good source of information:

Like most things today, hiring someone to do even the simplest task is
pretty expensive. You do have to invest in a few tools to do your own work,
but it does not take very long to recover the cost from savings doing your
own repairs and maintenance.

We're looking for a good tandem mechanic...any suggestions? We live in the
Ravenna neighborhood, not far from Counter Balance and Gregg's is also
close. We'd like the name of a specific mechanic.
Thanks. Karen
