Don't forget the basics:  Ride early in the day, before it gets hot (we were 
out this morning, it wasn't bad until after 10:30) or wait until evening. 
Start with frozen water bottles.  Bring a lock so you can take a cooling 
break in a store, library or restaurant with a/c.  Bring cash to buy cold 
drinks.  Fast-food restaurants are plentiful, have water and ice available, 
often self-serve, and are very good about letting you fill up.

Many (perhaps all) Camelbaks and clones have a removable insulating pad 
between the water bladder and your back.  Removing that pad will help the 
bladder cool your core (especially if you freeze it first, but be careful of 
frostbite).
