[ETC-Discussion] BOY it sure is easy to get all racy racer in a pack

Sheila and I also rode Flying Wheels today, but we were certainly less
ambitious than some of you! We stuck to the 45 mile route and decided that
the three hills it presented to us was enough for one day. :-) The most
riders we had on our wheel was 5 at any one time.

We saw several tandems on the ride and talked to a couple of them at rest
stops about ETC since they had never heard of it. We also saw Dave and Lisa
(Lisa was the little rocket that blew by us) on their singles. We received
several positive comments from single riders, which was a pleasant
experience.

Not sure what the numbers were for the ride today, but we did see number
3560 while riding!! All in all, a very nice day in sunny Washington.

Later,

Ralph and Sheila Furlong

Terri and I rode Flying Wheels today too. We planned to ride the 65mile
route, but it was such a beautiful day we added the Highbridge
Sno-Monroe loop. Maybe not the smartest decision we're ever made. So,
today was our first 100 mile day of the season. Luckily, we make it
back to MM before the beer garden closed.

it was only worn in, sort of the sideways part closest to the stem. Not in
the forward reaches. Come to find out it's too much of a stretch for her.
Hmmmm. So I moved her saddle forward 3/4" and we went out for a ride today
on our own to see if that would work for her. Make adjustments etc.

the way the bike handles. It's WAY more sporty and lively now, and I was
digging it. Being closer together reduces inertia I suppose. AND she can
reach the rest of her h-bar now.

blowing thru there at that exact moment. Go figure. So we find out they are
riding to Monroe on the old highway then taking Highbridge. All that was the
route WE were doing and we were thinking of changing plans, but decided to
join the fray. Safety in numbers and all that.

were pulling a sizable train into Monroe. Both Jeannie and I were ready to
blow a gasket but we were just having too much fun to back off. Turns out on
of the guys in the train was pouring beer at Marymore after the ride and
offered to set us up as thanks for the pull we gave him. Rats oh well.
