We need additional Captains for the Seabeck Camp at the end of August. The camp, located in a very scenic bay/mountain setting, will have about 130 deaf/blind participants from across the US and they need several Captains to provide tandem rides for them. Seabeck is not a particularly flat area but I found some fairly flat, safe riding options 4 miles from the camp. The riding days are Aug 24, 25 and 26 with free food and lodging and volunteers can opt to help on 1 or more of the ride days as their schedule allows. In the past 3 years, I have given 2 dozen tandem rides to 3 area blind riders - I can say that the tandem rides are quite an exhilarating feeling for me, my Stoker and the guest riders who cannot otherwise ride on their own.

Details about the ride are at: http://tinyurl.com/m9d5be (a posting at our ETC website on Aug 24th)

If there is an interest and you and your Stoker would like to do overnight stays, I need to let the camp director know by Monday. Also, if you know anyone outside of our tandem club who might be interested in helping, please let me know. The camp's staff is hoping to have several ETC captains on hand for this fun event. To date, we have the Furlongs and the Angells on our short list of Captains which means not many of these campers will get an opportunity to ride - hoping you can join us and share the joy of tandeming with others. It will make their stay quite a treat!

Regards,

Randall
