It looks like we will still be doing the ride. Rain seems to have pretty
much stopped, at least for awhile.

There is a breeze out of the south, but hopefully it will decrease. If it
is too much, it is possible we might shorten the ride. Will have to play it
by ear.

Conditions are still a bit uncertain, so anyone participating should dress
appropriately and be prepared for some wetness.

Eileen Saunders is the only person who contacted me, so I am copying her.
Obviously, everyone is welcome. Here is a Google Map link to the north end
parking lot for Myrtle Edwards Park (it is also named Elliott Bay Park on
the north end):

I have submitted a ride posting on the ETC ride calendar for Labor Day (it
is awaiting approval). It starts at 9 am.

It is an easy 75 miles from the north end of Myrtle Edwards Park on the
Seattle waterfront to Sumner and back. Anticipated pace is 16-18 mph on the
flats, but we will adjust to the needs of participants. It is just about
dead flat and most of the roads are very smooth. This is the route:

Through the park and continue on the waterfront
Left at Safeco Field
South on Airport Way
Continue past King County airport to Tukwila
South to Green River Trail to Kent
Pass through Kent Golf Course trail
South on West Valley Highway to Sumner (STP route)
Stop at espresso shop in Sumner
North through Sumner warehouse region to Algona/Pacific
North on Interurban Trail to Tukwila
Continuing North on trails and streets through South Park neighborhood
North through mixed streets and trails
Cross Duwamish River at Spokane Street Bridge
Through Seattle waterfront to Myrtle Edwards Park

For those who might want a short ride, we will pass the Three Friends
Fishing Hole in Kent at around 10:15 am. Anyone wanting to join can do a
ride of about half the length, at this rest stop. Our return leg goes very
close to Three Friends Fishing Hole.

Of course, this is a bit weather dependent. The forecast is not looking
very good for Saturday and Sunday, so we chose Monday as it looks the best.
Heavy rain and wind will cancel, but we will ride if it looks like only
showers.

I will likely make a final decision around 5 am Monday morning and will be
happy to send an email or make a call to anyone who is interested.
