If you haven't heard, there's an ETC Brew Fest coming up soon! (You have
been reading your newsletters, right?)
REGISTRATION CLOSES JULY 30th, 2010! Get your registration in now! First
come, first served. Email confirmations accepted as long as you send a
check the next day.
We're currently at 16 people (8 tandem teams). Here's the deal. We have
secured showers at a local fitness facility. The manager is concerned that
there won't be enough showers if we all show up at once, so we have decided
to limit the number of people to 22. If you sign up after we reach 22
people, we'd be happy to have you participate, except you might not be able
to take a shower after the ride on Saturday. I guess as long as you're
standing downwind from us, that will be ok!
Bikes, Brews, Camping, Fun, and good times with your friends! This fun
event will be held on August 14th and 15th, 2010.
The ETC Brew Fest Weekend will be held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual
Lakewood Rotary Home Brew Festival which will take place on August 14th at
Ski Park Lake near Orting, WA. The festival is a private event and will not
be open to the public. The park is just off the Foothills trail about 3.5
miles from Orting. The event is a fundraiser for the Lakewood Rotary Club,
and will also be a small fundraiser and FUN-raiser for the Evergreen Tandem
Club! (For more information about the Lakewood Rotary and the Home Brew
Festival go to http://www.lakewoodrotaryhomebrewfestival.com/
UPDATE -- Mike Murphy, Walt Richardson, and Larry Gill have visited the Ski
Park Lake again. ETC will have a prime camping spot. We'll pretty much be
camping on a golf course, with afternoon shade. Our camping location will
be a good distance away from the Brew Festivities, so for those who choose
to have some quiet time in the woods will be able to do so. We'll have
limited electrical power.
We'll be arriving at camp on Saturday morning, riding into Puyallup for the
Farmer's Market, and returning to the park for the Lakewood Rotary Brew
Festival for many samples of home brews, food, music, and other activities.
That evening, we'll have dinner. ETC is going to provide the meal,
including barbecue, corn on the cob, broccoli, and salads.
On Sunday morning, we'll have a yummy breakfast. ETC will provide coffee,
bacon, eggs, pancakes, fruit, and juice. After breakfast, we'll have
another ride. This ride will be pretty much an out and back, so if you're
limited on time, you can go as far or as long as you want.
The ETC member registration fee for the ETC Brew Fest Weekend is $100.00
for each tandem team or $50.00 for singles if registered and paid before
June 1st, 2010. The fee for folks that are not members of the Evergreen
Tandem Club the fee is $125.00 for each tandem team, or $75.00 for each
single registration (prior to June 1). After June 1st, add $10.00 to each
registration fee. Registration will close on August 1st. (No tickets will
be sold at the gate. This is a private event.) Although registration fees
are non-refundable, registrations may be transferred. The price will be the
same for everyone whether you're camping or not, or if you're participating
in the Home Brew Festival or not. The fee includes admission to the Home
Brew Festival, free beer sampling, camping (you supply the tent or camper),
bike rides, showers, porta-potties, Dinner on Saturday night and breakfast
on Sunday morning, drinking water, fun and fellowship.
This should be a fun weekend. You will not want to miss this
action-packed, fun-filled weekend!
