[ETC-Discussion] RAW deal

ETC brethren 



While I haven't been on a club outing since helping out at Tandem 101, I have been riding ALOT both as a single (some racing with Recycled Cycles) and tandem (training for RAW). 



I was doing a final clean on the ole' Santana last nite and discovered two loose spokes in the 40 spoke rear wheel. The rear wheel had only the slightest of wiggles so I figured to tension up the spokes but not go for perfection. Alas, the flange is broken and and two spokes - located 13 spokes apart - are no longer part of the dynamic relationship that is so integtral to tandem riding. 



My questions for you all: 



1. Does anyone have a rear wheel they could lend/rent/sell for our trip which leaves THIS Saturday! 

2. Do you know of anyone selling a such a wheel, which shop might have a wheel made up, other suggestions for purchase? 

** Yes, I could go to a shop and buy a new hub and get a wheel made up but I'm hoping to address that in more relaxed, pragmatic, and fiscally prudent fashion on our return. 

3. I did see a pair of 36 hole touring wheels on Craigslist and thought with the proper spaces I could roll on this for a week - what do you all think? 

4. OR ......, do you think I oughta' just run her on 38 spokes and hang a rabbit's foot off the stoker seat rail? 



If there are other points of comment outside of those listed above please feel free to suggest. My stoker has already made a few suggestions, none of which included the above points!
