[ETC-Discussion] Facebook questions

Tim,

So actually the problem is with the coding of the "home" button on the home
page. I was able to make it do what you described. That particular button is
linked to a non-existent page which kicks in the error page you see. The
text which goes by is exactly as someone called it, a programmer's joke
instead the a standard "page not found" error page. (It is actually a
take-off on Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but that is neither here nor
there.)

If you click on the link to www.evergreentandem.org that is on that error
page, you go back to the new site's home page. As long as you don't click on
the home button on the home page of the new site, you're fine.

Thanks for finding a glitch. I'm sure it will be an easy fix for Bob.

Spencer... Thanks for clarifying some of my questions. In ref to the web
page. When I go to Google ... type in Evergreen Tandem Club ..It brings up
Evergreen Tandem Club home page. ...when opened it brings up the new web
page. The tool bar lists Photo Gallery, Home, Calendar, Links, Etc. When I
hit HOME it than opens the old web page.??? Tim

Tim,

Let me clarify what has been said. When the statement "ETC is now on
Facebook" was made, it meant that anybody who is already on Facebook has the
option of seeing a page about ETC. That page consists solely of people who
want to know what is happening at ETC. ETC members individually may post
information about upcoming rides. They may post information about where they
would like to ride, in a discussion format. There is NO ETC data connected
to this Facebook page. People who are already taking the risks associated
with being on Facebook are the ones who can see and use the FB page.

It is just another way for people to talk about the club. It may even
attract new members by giving them another portal to find our website.

As to your problem with the "home" button. I tried mightily and could not
replicate it. What page are you one before you get sent to the old website?
Since I can't see what it happening there, I can't comment on how it is
happening or even what is happening.

I don't think Dave was questioning the validity of articles on FB security.
But since none of our data is connected with FB, the concerns are moot. It
would be like saying you didn't want to be part of this discussion list
because it uses the internet.

Hope that helps.
