Learn to ride together!
Tandems aren't just ' ... a bicycle built for two' as the song says. They are a fun, exciting and empowering way to get around on two wheels. Come to Tandem 101 and find out just how rewarding and exciting riding 'together' can be! If you're an avid 'half bike' rider come and find out how much faster/farther you can ride on a tandem. Are you and your significant other cyclists but differing abilities keep you on different roads? No problem on a tandem! New to cycling and want to get started with a partner? Tandeming is for you!
The workshop will start with a brief classroom introduction to tandeming, followed by a demonstration or two. Then the exciting part. We'll have a stable of bikes available for you to try out. Experience it for yourself. After the test rides we'll have something to eat and talk about how to buy a tandem. This will be our sixth year for Tandem 101 and we've turned lots of folks on to tandems. Now it's your turn.
The introduction will be held in the Fall City Library. It is right in the middle of Fall City across from the Mercery coffee shop along highway 202. We will be exiting out the back of the city onto open roads. The address is 33415 SE 42nd Place, Fall City, 98024
Phone nuber: 425-222-5951 http://www.kcls.org/fallcity/directions.cfm
We are moving the location this year so we can experience a slightly longer ride with very little traffic and safe road. Mostly away from busy trails, dogs, strollers, walkers etc and find a slight incline or two to practice. We might get in an option longer ride depend on the day and how everyone is felling.
Bring your own tandem or ride the club-provided tandems that will be available. The cost of the workshop is $25, but included in that is a one year ETC club membership.
All participants will be required to sign an event release/waiver. Helmets are required when riding.
